This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. McCarty and I’m very
impressed. DUKE DU JOUR is about time travel, mystery, intrigue and, of course,
romance. Jared Langley, present-day Duke of Reston, accidently
falls into a fountain and finds himself transported back to 1816 as the Seventh
Duke of Reston. Seven has a unsavory history including breaking the heart of
Lady Ariana Hart and Jared must do everything in his power to fix some of the
problems all the while trying not to succumb to the irresistible Ariana.
This is a well-paced book and every time you think Jared
has fixed a problem from his ancestor, something else surprises him. He’s
racing against time to get back to the present, but he can’t in all good
conscience, travel back to the present until he rectifies some of Seven’s
mistakes. I loved Jared as he tries to adjust to Seven’s role 200 years in the
past and of course, that means dealing with the feisty Ariana. Their chemistry
was definitely believable and I was routing for them to find
a way through
the quagmire of Seven’s previous behaviors. Fans of time travel and romance
will definitely enjoy this book. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Petie spent a large part of her career working at Walt
Disney World -- "The Most Magical Place on Earth" -- where she
enjoyed working in the land of fairy tales by day and creating her own romantic
fairy tales by night, including her new series, The Cinderella
Romances. She eventually said good-bye to her "day" job to write her
stories full-time. These days Petie spends her time writing sequels to her
